Privacy Disclosure
At Bernard M. Sullivan Insurance Agency, Inc. ("The Agency") our goal is to professionally and respectfully serve the insurance needs of our customers. The information that you provide to us when you apply for insurance helps us to achieve that goal. It enables us to provide both coverage and service to you efficiently and fairly.
Without question, our customers' trust is our most important asset. This includes the trust that we will keep the information that you provide to us secure and treat it only as permitted by law. This disclosure tells you about the privacy policy we have adopted at The Agency, and the practices we use in handling the information you furnish to us.
Privacy Policy
We do not disclose any non-public personal information about our individual customers to any third party other than those permitted by law and then only for the purpose of transacting the business of your insurance coverage. Exceptions to this policy are made only by request of the customer.
You should also know that The Agency restricts access to information about you to employees who need to know that information to better provide you with insurance coverage and/or the benefits and services that come with that insurance coverage. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with state and federal regulations to guard your non-public personal information.
While The Agency does not disclose any non-public information about our current or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law, you should be aware that in some cases this may mean information can be disclosed to certain third parties without your authorization. Examples of these third parties are insurance companies; parties who perform an insurance function for The Agency; independent claims adjusters, appraisers, investigators and attorneys who need the information to investigate, defend, or settle a claim involving you; insurance regulators and agencies; law enforcement; or lienholders, mortgagees, lessors or other persons shown on our records as having a legal or beneficial interest in your policy.
With respect to the information that we use in evaluating your application and servicing your insurance policy, most of this information comes directly from you. In addition to information we receive directly from you, we may also collect non-public personal information about you from your transactions with insurance companies and from information that insurance companies may have about you, including information from a Consumer Reporting Agency.
